My tribute to the #saveouroceans fight. We need to stop using so much plastic; it may not affect us but it will be detrimental to future generations. I implore you, make a change. Recycle to reduce your accountability in the destruction of the world. I know I will. Selene has never seen the ocean. She pines for it to fill this hole in her life, but knows that it's never coming back. And that makes her angry... This futuristic short story underlines the environmental issues plaguing our society.

For the past three years, I've lived on an island, right on the ocean. To my dismay, rather than enjoying the beauty, I am forced to watch as people throw more and more plastic bottles into the sea, littering the once beautiful beaches, turning the blue waters grey. While watching a documentary on Plastic pollution, I was really touched by the efforts some people are making to help the many sea creatures who face the threat of a poisoned ocean. The toxic wasteland we are creating must be stopped. That is why I am participating in the #planetorplastic writing competition. I want to help make a difference, and I encourage everyone to do it too :) I hope that people will realise what damage we are doing, and soon, for if we don't, the end of our time on Earth may come much sooner than we had thought...

In a dystopian future, pockets of human society remain after the Great Reset. The mysterious release of genetically engineered super-beings had destroyed modern-day society to avoid climate catastrophe... Now centuries later, rumours remain that the super-being army still lives hidden among us to keep a back-dated human society in check. Runaway Bunny is unexpectantly rescued by a mysterious figure who claims to be a descendent of one super-being type. And that she is too! Bunny feels an unexplained attraction towards this aloof stranger. She agrees to help him locate unstable earth energy centres that could cumulatively lead to earth's destruction. Their DNA is designed to locate and stablise them, but they are unsure how except through clues in a book, left behind by their descendants. And the sleepy town that they travel to near the first energy centre is not what it appears...

Like the Earth, we are mainly composed of water - it is our absolute base necessity and top priority for survival. When our oceans become polluted and toxic, we do too. My entry for the National Geographic's #PlanetorPlastic writing contest. In under 500 words I will tell my fictional story of how the state of our planet reflects the state of humankind.

*cough cough* Since our planet is being destroyed at a rapid rate *cough cough* I decided to make a book on all the ways that you, or any ordinary person can help. Mostly easy things, and some more difficult things, that you can do to help our environment thrive.Or rather, not die.
