I am about to be sacrificed! It is necessary for my planets survival. If I don't then the God that lives in our sun will shallow our planet whole. But a man is here telling me that our planet isn't worth saving. He is giving me an out of a path that I had no choice in, but if I do everyone will die! What would you do? This is a short story that I wrote for an @SciKick competition the goal was to involve 1000 in some way and keep the word count under 1000. I managed to do both in a story that I am pretty happy with. However I will let you guys make the decision on it.

In some cases, secrets are being kept from him, in others he needs to keep secrets, and in one instance he is the secret being kept from the rest of society. Alone and orphaned, Damon embarks on a life-changing mission that promises the answers that he's sought after his entire life. Friendships are formed, enemies are created and values are questioned as everything he's ever known is taken from him again and again. Getting out of this mess alive is one thing. Getting out of it mentally and emotionally intact is something completely different. MAX. The name. The name that made all fear. It wasn't long before Max Perevel was a military agent for the Chinese dictator. He was on a secret mission as a spy in America. And things were going pretty good. The Goddamn thing: The Earth got destroyed. The earth was the prey of a virus called Max and a world war. The Goddamnest thing: Max is the only survivor.
