During the scuffle, Kitana gets captured and taken to Shao Kahn. The journey to stop Shao Kahn has begun. Raiden then steps in and explains to Liu Kang and Kung Lao what is going on. Raiden assures them they are not strong enough to fight Shao Kahn alone, and must gather a strong team. Raiden sends them both to Outworld to find Sub-Zero, and this is where the story carries over into Part 2.
