Ever since the silence began, the world has been wrong. People lose whole days-forgotten, erased- as if their emotions are being swallowed by something unseen. Joy. Fear. Pain. All of it... fading. But Jiwoo hears what no one else can: Emotions making noise. A trembling echo when fear rises, a sharp crack when anger shatters, a low hum when grief tries to breathe. And when the seventh tone awakens inside her skull, the lights flicker- time stutters- and a voice whispers from the empty air: "Hear the seventh tone." Something is breaking. Something is calling. And Jiwoo is the only one who can hear it.

The Taker and the Ember Zander was the perfect instrument of the Veil. As a Reaper of the High Court, he was a creature of absolute cold, harvesting souls with the clinical indifference of a god. He didn't feel, he didn't linger, and he certainly didn't love. But when he is sent to the Black Pit-a sprawling, industrial slum where hope goes to die-he encounters an anomaly he cannot process. Allara is the city's memory keeper. In a place where poverty erases identity, she maintains a "Red Ledger" of the fallen, honoring the dead with Small Mercies. She is a flicker of gold in a world of absolute grey. When Zander's fascination turns into a forbidden intervention, the High Arbiter strips him of his divinity, shoving his starlight essence into a suit of breakable meat and bone. Now a mortal man with the "Sight" of a god, Zander must navigate a world where he is no longer the predator, but the prey. Together, the fallen god and the mortal nurse must protect the city's stolen memories from a parasitic exile who feeds on grief. In a race against his own ticking heartbeat, Zander will learn that the only thing more terrifying than death is the vulnerability of being alive.

/həˈstirēə, həˈsterēə/ noun exaggerated or uncontrollable emotion or excitement, especially among a group of people. ---------- Cadence Ballard's parents wanted her to go see a psychiatrist, but she argued that her drumming was cheaper than therapy. Josh Morrison wanted to belt out vocals like James Hetfield and Bruce Dickenson, but his father slash traditionalist vocal coach made him sing like Josh Groban and Frank Sinatra. Harley Whitaker knew he was going to be rich and famous, but the way to do it was to switch his major to music theory after three years of studying business and project management. Ali Chambers studied at Harvard Law for a year before deciding to study what she loved, despite her attorney parents' desire for her to follow in their footsteps. Conrad Larson desperately wanted to play in a band rather than perform a solo on a grand piano, but with his parents against anything 'unsophisticated', he had to suffer alone on center stage. When all five adults get forced to work on a school project together, they decide to create something that would join them together as friends. Something that would show their families the true meaning of hard rock and metal. Something that would allow them to showcase their hysteria.

I started writing this story when I was 18. Still have a long way to go for it to be finished. Story of my life. By age 5, I wasn't doing well. It was either find me a treatment program to help me learn how to eat table foods or get me a feeding tube because my health was at risk. The only other option was the option that no parent would want ... I was only eating baby food vanilla pudding and only drinking milk and water for 6 months. I refused to eat table foods as a baby. I not only talk about the traumatic events at age 5, but I take a deep dive into my entire childhood from start to finish, the typical parts of my childhood to the not so typical parts. I had sensory processing issues as a kid and mental health issues as a kid / teen and young adult. But anyone can overcome any obstacle if you set your mind to it, and find the right treatment. You have to know that there is hope. Read this story to discover the hardships of my childhood and why food was and still is a struggle today. But also read this story if you are a parent looking for help for your children, read this story if you are a person looking for motivation to lead you on the path of success, read this story if you are looking for help with mental health, read this story if you are bored, read this story for literally any reason. And if you are looking for even a sliver of hope for your life, this story is for you. Even if you just feel a tiny bit of hope, that's all it takes to start, and eventually lead into the journey of ultimate hope and a life full of miracles.
