Kelly Severide and Taylor Ryan Voight have known each other since they were kids. Their fathers were close friends. After high school, they split ways and lost contact. Kelly enrolled in the Chicago Fire Academy. While Taylor enlisted in The United States Marines. Ten years later Taylor has returned to Chicago. Now she is a detective and sniper for the Intelligence Unit for CPD. Kelly is now a squad lieutenant for Firehouse 51, Squad 3. No one has heard from Taylor except for her father three years ago. Taylor wonders if Chicago is worth all the trouble. But anything was better than what she'd been running from.

Brooke is a diligent, hard working, and friendly person who works hard as a detective in the intelligence unit. She has often been put undercover, and she is great at feeling into any role. Her undercover jobs vary from lasting a few minutes to a few months. Kelly hates that she works a dangerous job as he is very worried and hates not knowing if she'll make it home, however, he is very proud of her little sister.
