After twelve months of gruelling training Ava was ready to start driving trains, but her first day on the job did not go as planned. Driving a packed commuter train should be easy. Just follow the signals, but for an inexperienced train driver danger could easily be waiting around the next curve. A short four part drama. Since my knowledge of how railways operate is rather limited I had some help with this story. Thanks to my friend Fiamma, who drives trains in Italy, for her invaluable assistance with this story. Also thanks to my friend Craig, a railway enthusiast, who provided much information on how railways in Sydney operate. And thanks to Google which gave me technical explanations of things like block signalling and dynamic braking.

Which is why when she finally makes it to the BAU, she promises herself that she will never, ever reveal what happened to her to the team. She calls herself Cleo (which isn't a problem, that was what she was called anyway), and refuses to reveal her last name. Jason Gideon and David Rossi are the only ones who know who she actually is, Erin Strauss has an idea, and Aaron Hotchner knows that at least something happened, it is only the people at the very top who know her whole story. Because of her circumstances, her full name is allowed to be hidden from her team. But when Angel, a boy who escaped captivity, refuses to talk, Cleo must decide whether revealing her name and thus her past to help this child is worth it. When she does, connections are made, and unanswered questions from her case start being brought up again. Will she be able to continue this job when old demons are brought back? Can she handle it?
