This time, it was an illegal AI. Rumors whispered through the extranet about a potentially dangerous, sentient program being developed at the prestigious Thessian Science Academy. The Council, naturally, wanted plausible deniability. Nobody knows she survived and she is desperate to find her friends and introduce Garrus to the daughter he has never met. But things take a sinister turn

Not only was Garrus concerned about the mission but also his thoughts were with Jane. What exactly did she find in the central chamber of the Collector Base? What if she was on a razor's edge? His greatest fear was that she didn't get it through. Shepard seemed to be invincible but once she was defeated by The Collectors and what if it would happen again?

Marlow Shepard was dead to Garrus and the remaining crew of the SR-1 for two whole years. They didn't know that in those two years, Cerberus had slapped her on some cement and begun the Lazarus Project. During that time, Garrus realizes just how much the commander had meant to him, and seeing her alive and kicking evokes some very strange emotion that he'd never truly experienced before.
