Lance struggled to pull the words out of his throat, his hands shaking as he tried to balance himself. Calm down, he thought, you can do it. Keith patiently waited, sitting in silence as he poured his coffee into a mug. Lance felt a rock in his stomach, weighing him down. You have to do it, you already started. Allura moved up a grade and is now a senior! Since her other friends Lance and Hunk are juniors, she wants to make some friends in her grade. That's when she meets him, a boy that looks as if he has no friends. Everyone says to stay away but she wants to see for herself why he is so bad. A Shallura fanfic with a sprinkle of Klance and team Punk at the end. Shiro and Allura have both endured incredible pain and loss throughout their lives, and much of that pain has come from the Galran Empire. Despite the fact that both of them take different approaches to different Galrans, they connect over the losses they have both suffered and the pressure that comes with being burdened as a leader. On a late night, after Shiro and Allura decide to give up on sleeping for the night, the two leaders bump into each other and decide to spend the night/early morning by sharing tea and stories from their pasts.

Sometimes I look in the mirror and think 'how did I get into this mess, a mess filled with adventure, fantasy, space, and maybe even...love?' I still ask myself what would have happened if I hadn't enrolled in the garrison, met Lance and Hunk, or have gone to the roof that night with Pidge, maybe not have gotten onto that hover bike with Keith and Shiro that had just fallen from space, or if I hadn't just shot lighting out of my body, and became a Paladin of Voltron?!
