Throughout my childhood i have always experienced mental health issues like panic attacks and anxiety. Depression is a struggle, many a times others will not understand the stress you go through and put you down. This is about how those facing these struggles feel, and i hope through this story others can better understand the pain of these conditions.

Inspired by the legendary painting "Automat" by Edward Hopper, "The Girl in the Pale Yellow Hat" is a story in which a writer falls in love with a stranger he sees in a coffee shop at midnight. His lovestruck mind launches into different imaginings for why she is there at midnight, and who may come to fill the empty chair across from her. Later in the narrative, he writes himself into her imaginary life.
