"Deal's off, Sherlock." "No!" Sherlock jumps and turns toward the Doctor. "I'm sorry, but this is not my position to hold. John is ruined. I can't do this for you." The Doctor focuses on the gadgets in front of him "Don't Doctor. He will die if they see me. The whole point of my jump was so he would be safe." Sherlock trails off quietly. "How would you feel if John died in front of you?" The Doctor says pointedly, finally looking up angrily at Sherlock. Sherlock is silent. Silence is all the Doctor could take as submission. With that, they turn around. --------- "Dude, do you see that?" Sam wonders aloud, leaning around Dean to look out of the window. Dean takes another bite of his pie and says through the pastry, "It's a box." Sam raises his eyebrows. "Yeah, a 1960's police box." Dean just swallows and taking another bite. Sam gives him a look. "Don't you think it's strange that a 1960's police box is in the 21st century, on a street filled with only deserted warehouses?" he raised his eyebrows. "Fine." Dean says, spraying pie everywhere and getting out of the Impala. ---------- "Go and bring Sherlock back." John declares suddenly dragging his eyes up to the Doctor's. "I can't." The words, 'Because he's already here' dies on the Doctor's lips. He had to keep this one simple promise. "No, get into that blue box of yours and bring Sherlock back!" "I'm sorry, John, I can't." The Doctor pleads with his eyes for him to stop before he breaks Sherlock's promise. "You're... sorry?" John says, quieter. "Then what is the point of you, Doctor?" A young cellist from Alabama travels to London to audition for the London Symphony and randomly meets the infamous consulting detective. She discovers that the cello opening in the Symphony was created because a cellist had been murdered. Sherlock is on the case, and as they work together to solve the mystery, they become increasingly close. Author's note: I've had this story stuck in my head for awhile, so I'm glad to finally have a venue to get it out. This is my first fanfic, so constructive feedback is welcome. I, myself, am a classical musician, so there are a lot of musical details in the story. I take pride in trying to write a fanfic with substance with an original mystery, and I hope you enjoy!
