My entry for the 'Shortys 2024' contest by the @shortstory and @Poetry profiles. Inspired by a comic strip called 'Εξωτική Ομορφιά' (exotical beauty), which I found in a Greek Barbie magazine from the 90s. Heliene = a combination of the Greek words Helios and Selene (Sun and Moon).

DS Beth Woodcock finds herself with an unusual murder on her hands. I hope Beth stands on her own here, but her back story is available. She first appeared in "Short Stories 2021: 'The Friends'". Subsequently, she's popped up in "Short Stories 2024" twice: 'Sweet and Sour' and 'On the Ground'". 'On the Ground' is directly related to this story.
