After the Lights Go Down is a collection of one-shots about love in its quietest moments - after the applause fades, after the door closes, after the world finally goes still. These stories live in the soft places: tired hearts, gentle hands, coming home to someone who sees you when you're no longer shining for everyone else. Each chapter is its own moment, its own love story, written for when you need comfort, reassurance, or a reminder that being held can be enough.

Olivia(Liv)is a teenage girl who spends her life around horses. She has fought to get to the top of her division and pushes her self to stay on top. Liv believes that,"You have to be afraid to lose. Not to die." But the after math of what happen only 2 short years ago, is coming back to haunt her.

Alice is spending her sophomore year at an equestrian boarding school with her horse, Cassia, and her best friend Brooklyn. It is all going fine until she realizes that she is here on a riding scholarship and for no reason her riding starts becoming worse. If she can win at nationals, she will be able to stay. It is up to her, and her horse.

Critiquers like to say that you need show rather than tell your story. What does that mean anyway and is there ever a time when you should tell instead of show?

Then there's the added pressure of friends, injuries, and the fact Under the Crown Farm is going, well, under. Can they make it through, qualify, and prove their detractors wrong?

This story is my life, a story that doesn't have an ending, a story in which its ending is unknown. I guess it might not be that interesting but its nice to share my experiences with you. Yes, the reason its called My 'Other' Life is because it is. Nobody really knows who I am, it is unbelievable on what a smile can do. I just want to inspire others, help them, motivate them. I hope will, fingers crossed.

All oxygen leaves her body as she changes her focus back front. A horse is standing there, at the junction between the paths, a couple yards away. A horse that she has absolutely no idea where it came from. "Jesus." She breathes. ~ When Iris Bellehaven is drawn out to the stables in the dead of the night, she doesn't except to be met with a mare out of the blue, having no relation to Iris or the stables. She becomes even more of a riddle when no one can figure out quite where this mystery mare came from. When Iris takes on the responsibility of this mare, Thea, she is given an experience she will never forget. Fletcher Wilde, Iris's best friend, thinks this is oddly like a cliche horse story, but Iris thinks that this is the one thing she's been asking for.
