When the wizarding war reaches a breaking point, the Ministry of Magic enacts a desperate measure: the Wartime Magical Cohesion Act, a law that binds powerful witches and wizards into temporary magical marriages to stabilize Britain's failing defenses. For Hermione Granger, seventeen years old and still a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the law is an act of violence disguised as necessity. For Severus Snape, thirty-eight, double agent and sworn protector of secrets, it is another burden added to a lifetime of them. Their bond is not born of affection, nor intended to last. It is a countdown-set to dissolve the moment Lord Voldemort is defeated. But war reshapes everything it touches. As Hogwarts becomes a fortress, friendships fracture under secrecy, the Order of the Phoenix argues morality against survival, and the lines between protection and control blur. Hermione refuses to surrender her voice or her future, while Snape refuses to allow a child to be consumed by a war she did not choose. And when the war finally ends, the law will vanish. What remains may be far more complicated.

After the war, Hogwarts reopens its doors - but survival does not mean healing. Hermione Granger returns for her seventh year carrying invisible wounds she refuses to name. Brilliant. Composed. Functional. No one notices how carefully she controls sound, light, and movement... until her body betrays her. Professor Severus Snape, reinstated as Potions Master, notices everything - except the truth she is hiding from him most of all: that her devotion to him runs as deep as her trauma. As silence becomes her enemy and noise her undoing, the dungeons of Hogwarts turn into a place of reckoning. Because some scars do not scream. They flinch. They hide. They wait. And love - real love - begins not with rescue, but with recognition.

When war reaches Hogwarts, there is no longer a difference between student and soldier. Hermione Granger is eighteen, brilliant, and still enrolled when the castle becomes a battleground. While Harry is burdened by prophecy and Ron by rage, Hermione prepares for what no one else will name: the cost of survival. Severus Snape sees it first - the way she studies irreversible magic, the way she plans for a future that does not include herself. Bound by duty, restraint, and timing that is always cruel, they circle one another through strategy meetings, whispered warnings, and a war that does not allow softness. When Nagini's venom threatens to take Snape's life, Hermione makes a choice she has been preparing for all along - one that will save him and destroy her. She will die slowly. She will not show the pain. And she will remain a student until the very end. A tragic slow-burn story of restraint, sacrifice, and love proven only when it costs everything.

The second wizarding war is finally over. Voldemort is defeated and his death eaters either dead or sentenced to life in Azkaban. Despite the many deaths the order of the phoenix has to mourn, a bit of normality returns to the lives of those who survived. Hogwarts has been rebuilt and now Harry, Hermione, Ron and Ginny are riding the train back there on September 1st, 1998. Will their last year finally be a peaceful one? Obviously I don't own Harry Potter, I just play with its characters and places. I hope you enjoy this story. Julia out x

Hogwarts has always been a place of magic, danger, and secrets-but some of the most devastating threats leave no spellwork behind. In her sixth year, Hermione Granger begins to change in ways her friends cannot immediately name. She grows quieter. Careful. Her brilliance dims at the edges. Bruises appear and disappear. Explanations come too easily. Severus Snape notices. He notices because he has seen this before-not in a classroom, but in a narrow house filled with shouting and silence. He recognizes the patterns because they shaped his childhood, because they buried his mother. As Headmaster, Snape holds power he once lacked. And when the signs align, he refuses to wait for certainty, permission, or tragedy. Before the Funeral Bell is a dark, character-driven story about vigilance, institutional responsibility, friendship, and the cost of hesitation-told through the eyes of a man determined never to stand at another graveside wondering what would have happened if someone had acted sooner.

In the aftermath of the Second Wizarding War, Hogwarts reopens its doors-not just to students, but to scrutiny. Hermione Granger returns for her seventh year determined to finish her education and rebuild what the war took from her. Severus Snape, still Potions Master and more isolated than ever, has survived at the cost of his reputation, his peace, and his future. When rumors spread that Hermione is receiving special treatment in Potions, the Ministry intervenes, turning Hogwarts into a courtroom and Snape into the accused. As whispers become accusations and loyalty is tested, Hermione is forced to choose between silence and truth. What follows is not a love story born of scandal-but one forged in respect, intellect, restraint, and courage. Some fires are meant to be seen.

After the war, Hermione Granger returns to Hogwarts for her seventh year at eighteen, determined to finish what she started. To the world, she is brilliant, composed, unbreakable. To a very small circle-Ginny, Harry, Ron, Lavender, Cho, and Draco-she is surviving minute by minute. Severus Snape is forty, sharp-edged, watchful, and done with pretending that the war did not leave wreckage behind. He does not know Hermione's secrets. No one tells him. He learns them the hard way. When a single lesson recreates Hermione's worst trigger, she leaves without permission. Snape follows-not in anger, but in alarm. He does not demand explanations. He does not force confessions. He simply makes certain it never happens again. This is a story about trauma that is not announced, love that does not demand disclosure, and a man who learns that accountability can be quieter than apology.

In the aftermath of war, Hogwarts reopens its doors to a final, fractured Seventh Year. Hermione Granger returns changed-older, sharper, quieter-and carrying a secret she never intended to have. She is in love with Severus Snape. Not a reckless love. Not a hopeful one. A disciplined, private, romantic love for a man who will never know it exists. When Hermione begins to suffer the rare and ancient Hanahaki curse, she understands immediately what it means: unreturned love, allowed to exist without resentment, without confession, without escape. She does not panic. She does not regret it. But Harry, Ron, and Ginny do. As the curse worsens-most cruelly during Potions class, where Snape remains as cold, brilliant, and unchanged as ever-Hermione must confront a truth no textbook prepared her for: Love does not have to be wrong to be deadly. And sometimes, survival asks for something she is unwilling to give up.

Hermione Granger has survived the war by becoming something harder than hope. In her seventh year at Hogwarts, while the world fractures under Voldemort's rule, Hermione carries grief no spell can mend - her parents, her grandparents, her aunts and uncles, and the child she never got to hold, all erased by the same man. Love was never meant to find her in the middle of ruin, yet it does - quietly, painfully - in the unlikeliest place, with the man Voldemort believes he owns. When Severus Snape is accused of betrayal before the entire Great Hall, Hermione makes a choice that will change the course of the war. She lies. She manipulates. She saves him. And when the moment finally comes, Hermione refuses to let Voldemort leave this world without hearing the names of everyone he took from her. This is a story about love that survives devastation, grief that demands to be spoken, and a girl who ends a war not with prophecy - but with truth.

After the war, the Ministry claims it is rebuilding the wizarding world. What it truly rebuilds is control. A Marriage Law is enacted without consent, without mercy, and without privacy. Students and professors alike are summoned to the Great Hall, where futures are assigned in alphabetical order-publicly, permanently. When Hermione Granger's name is paired with her Potions professor, Severus Snape, the damage is immediate and irreversible. She does not scream. She does not argue. She walks out. What follows is not a romance born of fate, but a story of restraint, guilt, loyalty, and survival-where love is not taken, not assumed, and never demanded. Because some doors, once closed, are meant to stay that way until they are opened by choice.
