A Soldier, posted in Borders, fell in love with a girl from the village at the border.

"So, you ran away from your own wedding?" The mystery man asked. The old brick wall of the park separating the two. Elyah on one side, Mystery man on the other. "Yeah.. It just felt wrong, getting married to him if I don't love him." Elyah heard the man breathe deeply. She was curious as to who he was but she was too embarrassed at the moment to look. "Why is that?" His voice was soft, not cold or harsh. "You see, I thought I loved him. I thought I'd able to fool myself that he was my soulmate. Though, Three months in, I realized I was still in love with someone else. I guess since then I've been faking it, thinking those feelings would fade." Elyah sat on the ground with her back pressed against the brick wall. She didn't care about her wedding dress being ruined. "Who was he? The man you still love, I mean." Elyah sighed. Every single memory of him flooded her mind. It made her chest hurt, Every piece of her ached to be loved like that again, to feel that happy again, even to feel that happy again. What is hope? By dictionary definition it is: 1. to look forward to with confidence or expectation, or 2. to believe or desire. I believe that hope is never giving up and always looking towards the future with, well, hope. I really need to remember that.
