Olive is in her late twenties and has everything she was supposed to want: a successful corporate career in New York, a long-term relationship, and a future that looks perfect on paper. The only problem? It doesn't feel like her life. After walking away from everything she spent years building, Olive boards a one-way flight to Portugal with no real plan except to keep moving. From the cliffs of Cabo da Roca and the surf towns of the Atlantic coast to the sun-drenched shores of Italy and the hidden corners of the Adriatic, she chases the feeling that something more is waiting for her. Along the way, she collects unforgettable places, unexpected friendships, heartbreak, terrible dates, and a growing realization that no destination can tell her who she is. Because sometimes finding yourself means getting lost first. And sometimes love finds you only after you stop looking for it. 🌍 Follow Olive beyond the pages: @seasaltolive

✨Story Description ✨ In a world that glorifies crowds, Yana Rathore chooses the quiet. A gifted web developer from India, she lands her dream job in New York City with a 24 LPA package - a milestone earned through relentless effort and endless nights of coding. But Yana is not the girl who seeks validation in noise. She is the girl who thrives in silence, celebrates little wins with music in her headphones, a sketchbook in her hands, and joy tucked inside her own company. "Miles of Solitude" is not a love story. It is the journey of an independent woman discovering the power of solitude - balancing workplace challenges, navigating cultural shifts, enduring the sting of family envy, and fulfilling her dream of traveling the world on her own terms. Through every struggle and every victory, Yana proves that happiness doesn't have to be loud. Sometimes, it glows quietly - in the simple act of choosing yourself.

We all get travel jitters before a big trip, especially if solo traveling. As in traveling on your own and you only got your back, you have a lot of what ifs and worst case scenarios in your head and makes you think "It's too scary I won't do it". I wrote this piece to encourage myself (I don't know which category to put this so I just chose poetry) months ago who's cowering in traveling and thought I'd share it to you. Thank you for reading! -M

It's not always that one get the chance to travel alone. When you do, grasp the chance. When is the best time to visit The Great Wall Of China? Umm... not summer, to crowded. Not winter, to cold. Not spring, I have pollen allergies. Feeling the air whip across my face, I breathe out lightly. Slowly, one step at a time, I walk yet another step towards my ancestry.

During the first half of 2016 I embarked on a solo eight month trip to South-East Asia and South America. I left as a shy, naive eighteen year old girl and returned to Australia a much more outgoing, confident young women. This book aims to detail some of the experiences I had during my travels, some tips for other travellers, particularly the solo women kind, and my realisations along the way. A 'coming of age', or 'finding yourself' memoir if you will, although I hope you take away much more than this observation from Gypsy Dreams. If so then my purpose in writing it will have been fulfilled.
