Choir was going to be the best thing about this year, at least until she met Lucca Pierce. Or, I should say, re-met. First year of high school! Lucca's family had just moved back to Ellensburg after the death of the aunt he never met. Though Lucca had low hopes for the school year, he was excited for one thing: choir. Resuming his spot as a tenor. A new start in the town he was born in. But a new start wasn't exactly what he got when Lucca met Emeline Dawson. Or, re-met her.

That's when she met him; a boy named Erik, two years older than her, who lived a life of abuse and was placed on display as the "son of the devil" due to half his body being covered in red patchy skin. That night would set the two on a path that ten years later would result in them trying to save the Palais Garnier and their lives into falling into the hands of others. Scott Hoying was walking in the streets of LA when he sees someone jump from the top of a five-story building. He isn't sure why, but he runs to the spot where he assumed the person had landed. The victim is somehow alive. He calls 911 and finds out later that the victim, Mitch Grassi, had been killed in a car accident two years before. Mitch always seems to be talking nonsense whenever Scott visits him in the hospital. What he can't seem to shut up about are his lost wings. Scott becomes more and more intrigued with the fallen angel. And the fallen angel becomes more and more intrigued about his new life, and the man who saved it.
