I opened my eyes for the first time in a place I didn't recognize. The only thing that greeted me was the harsh white light pouring from a lamp on the ceiling, burning against my eyes. Everything around me was unfamiliar-cold metal walls cables hanging from above and experimental capsules filled with cloudy liquid. Could my brother and I ever become a part of this world? Could we live in a safe home sit around a warm table and sleep without fear? A life filled with love. Who wouldn't want that?
