The year was 1973, You were a Waitress on a train, you were a year below the legal age to work as one (the legal age is 18) but the boss is a family friend who gave you the job, it gave you good money so you were happy with it. You were also a huge David Bowie fan, he was literally your most favorite musician of all time, it would be a dream come true if you met him. Little do you know, he will be boarding that train for 5 days. What will happen? Will you two become friends? Is it possible... that you two have crossed paths before? (This is indeed my first David Bowie story so I hope you like it)

The short and completely uneventful tale of Super Ted, a sentient Tiny Potato that plays piano by day, and does nothing (I repeat NOTHING) at night. Don't even bother reading this story, because Super Ted certainly doesn't go out in space and fight evil villains and things. Where did you get that idea from? The title? The title always lies! Didn't your parents teach you not to judge a book by its cover? Super Ted is a completely ordinary Tiny Potato, he's not some agent for MI6, we swear. Now just run along and take your camera with you.

A flash fiction based on David Bowie's song "Space Oddity".

Tommaso, astronauta dell'ESA, è il comandante della Stazione Spaziale Internazionale, in missione biennale per studiare gli effetti del clima sul pianeta. A ogni expedition pubblica su Instagram foto scattate con una macchina fotografica Nikon, simbolo importante nella sua vita come lo è stato in quella di sua moglie Sara. È osservando una foto che scopre la macchia sopra il golfo di Taranto, una malattia, forse dovrebbe avvertire qualcuno, ma nella sua testa ormai c'è solo il desiderio di colmare la distanza tra sé e casa. Un incidente, tuttavia, gli impedirà di partire, e il passato che l'ha spinto a lasciare la Terra inizierà a tormentarlo. Cercherà in Controllo Missione un punto di riferimento su cui riporre tutte le sue speranze, ma è presto per abbandonare la Stazione, prima deve affrontare l'ultima camminata spaziale, e imparare a lasciar andare qualcosa... Scritto in un'originale seconda persona, la narrazione procede spasmodica tra attività extraveicolari e comunicati radio. Space Oddity non è un racconto di fantascienza, perché tratta con realismo e concretezza lo spazio in cui è ambienta la vicenda. Si tratta di un esplorazione, quella della Stazione Spaziale Internazionale, ma anche, e soprattutto, di un viaggio introspettivo nella muta vastità del cosmo.

Hi this is a short story that I wrote for a Science Fiction writing competition. It's based on a prompt which is the song 'Space Oddity' by David Bowie and is about being stuck in Space. Hope you enjoy it if you read it.

In a radiant corner of the universe, an unlikely yet lovable crew embarks on a stellar mission to recover a legendary artifact: the Golden Carrot, a cosmic object capable of granting heightened perception to any living creature. At the helm of the Starhopper is Aster, a brave-hearted anthropomorphic rabbit, joined by a one-of-a-kind crew: Duckie, a grumpy, heavily armed duck; Gallie, a two-headed rooster constantly arguing with himself; Jared, a young scientific prodigy with glasses and secrets; Brixel, a big-hearted gelatinous being; and Lara Xubox, an expert pilot and key figure in the battles ahead. Their journey takes them across forgotten sectors, fractured moons, mental stations, and planets on the brink of collapse-all while being hunted by Rally Callie, an interdimensional entity shaped like a giant eye with multiple arms, seeking to claim the Carrot and upset the balance of the galaxy. Through betrayals, visions of the future, personal dilemmas, and cosmic battles, the group soon discovers that this mission will not only test their courage... it will also reveal who among them is truly destined to see beyond. ASTER is an animated science fiction epic-infused with cosmic humor, retro action, and space-fantasy flair. It pays tribute to the galactic adventures of the '80s and '90s with a tone that is fresh, nostalgic, and electrifying.

Major Tom faces the seemingly never-ending expanse called space. When he discovers how beautiful space really is, something ironic happens.
