Velanie has had it hard the past few months. But nothing prepared her for what has happened now. She now has to face the fact that the love of her life is marrying a girl he's known for three of four months. And she's a total bitch. Now with a broken heart, Velanie begins to act out, but what happens the day of the wedding?

Josh was a normal 16-year-old guy that had everything at the palm of his hands; looks, good grades, and a beautiful girlfriend, Paige. Paige was his whole other world, where he could escape from everything that went on between his family. But one day, Paige is gone, and Josh is shattered, not knowing what to do with his life. He then makes friends with his new neighbor, Ricky, who teaches Josh different ways to cope with depression and stress, even if all of them aren't good ideas. Slowly he learns the arts of cutting and burning, and becomes a wreck. At this point in his life, Josh has no idea what to do except for rebel and stay friends with his terrible friend, Drew. Secrets linger in the air, bodies will be hung, and clothing will be taken off. Somehow, this is all kept a dirty, nasty secret that'll leave you saying, 'Shhhh....'

A collection of stories all in the heart of New York where sometimes there's power is words, and others--silence. This twisting novel focuses on how different people react in different situations. From massacre at a school to troubles with love unrequited. The Power of Words and Silence will make you wonder things you never did before.

We are girls who dance to rhythm of our sorrows and the beat of our pain. The girls who make music from our whimpers and lyrics from our cries. The girls who bleed to paint the skies while the earth reverbs our buried hearts. We make wings from glass, fragile and breakable yet supportive. We are girls who laugh out loud and weep in silence.
