Welcome to our first-ever Echoes From the World. At @IdentityandCulture, we believe every story has a heartbeat and every culture has a secret. This activity is designed to bridge the gap between the stories we host in our reading lists and the diverse community that reads them. Together, we dive into our culture, spotlight a story, and challenge you, the people of the world, to decode a mystery. Every reader who joins us will receive a special participant sticker at the end of the month to celebrate their contribution to the community.

But she's a sphinx, which is reason enough for anyone who learns her secret to think she's a bloodthirsty killer. So Lenore keeps to herself and her woods, intent to let the world go on without her. That is until he shows up. Rye is a hunter. There's nothing he hates more than the kin, and sphinxes especially, the vile creatures that killed his mother in front of him when he was just a boy. He's dedicated his life to avenging her death. And now he has a wounded sphinx in his sights. Nothing will stop him from making the kill... Enter Tarah and Marton Hastings, the dragon/human couple on a quest to save the world, one story at a time. They have a mission for the sphinx and the monster hunter, an unlikely paring that might just be perfect to stop the rogue group of hunters terrorizing humans and kin alike across Umrahs. Lenore and Rye reluctantly agree, and even more reluctantly set out together to see what might be done to keep their people safe. The journey they go on will shake them both to the core of who they are, and change their nation forever.

A cute short story about the dalliance between two mythological creatures

This is a short story which I wrote a number of years ago and recently fixed up (boy, it was a mess, let me tell you!). When working on the Sphinx character I had Jo Brand in mind, for those of you who know her. The whole idea is a little 'out there', so bear with me. All criticisms, constructive or otherwise, are very welcome.

This is the sequel to Sphinx. Rachael and Gabriel enjoy each other's company in a brief moment of peace until a new enemy comes to avenge Dracula's death. She is bitter but her bitterness is shared as Samuel seeks revenge for his brother. They band together and travel through mystical lands in a trouble filled journey to save Gabriel's soul. They meet obstacles they never imagined including those of the heart as their feelings towards each other grows during their journey. Their bonds and their wills will be the last thing holding Gabriel's soul and they are faced with an agenda from an enemy outside their sights. Samuel will face a trial as he battles the aftermath of Gabriel's death and he will be forced to make a decision to let his brother die or lose his opportunity at love. And Gabriel will have to decide if he will watch his brother die for him or if he will stay dead for his brother to live. Love, jealousy and blood will write their stories.

This story is about Cerberus and his mate who just happens to be a sphinx and the last one at that. Read with caution there will be mature content, this is my first book and first time writing mature content. Love yall, well not everyone 😘
