Welcome to our first-ever Echoes From the World. At @IdentityandCulture, we believe every story has a heartbeat and every culture has a secret. This activity is designed to bridge the gap between the stories we host in our reading lists and the diverse community that reads them. Together, we dive into our culture, spotlight a story, and challenge you, the people of the world, to decode a mystery. Every reader who joins us will receive a special participant sticker at the end of the month to celebrate their contribution to the community.

As the two become close to each other once more, rumors start going around the school about suspicious activity involving a local gang, one that is said to use dark magic. With disappearing students and the school's policies becoming more and more intense, Mic, Quinn, and their friends may have to take some action of their own to save their community. This story takes place in a world much like our own, but one thing is noticeably different. There is a world of mystics, fantastical creatures, and supernaturals that is thinly veiled from most people. This story is about secrets, friendship, and betrayal. It follows a boy who crosses paths with a young sphinx who may not be all that she seems. It all began one day on a dark and stormy night... A note to the readers: This is the first story I am sharing with anybody, and I really hope to complete it. It's a first draft, and I will likely be changing many things as I go.
