"What if the one you waited for was never meant to stay" Jastlyn Ravea Aguilar met him back in Grade 10 seatmates by chance, not by choice. At first, she barely noticed him. But fate worked quietly, until they found themselves in the same circle of friends, sharing laughter, calls, and school stress. Then she fell for him. Silently. Secretly. Never crossing the line. They went to different strands in senior high, but stayed in touch. Video calls, helping each other with modules. Until college came, and he moved to Manila. That's when she finally confessed. He didn't believe her at first, but eventually, he said "I want to focus on my studies." She understood. She stayed. But time changed everything. Messages faded, and distance grew. Still, she checked in quietly watching his posts, smiling at his stories, loving from afar. Later, she saw the girl she always suspected now officially his. It hurt. A lot. But she had no right to complain. Because she was never the girl he loved. Just the girl who stayed.

I lived in India from 1984-2005, and wrote to my parents regularly about my adventures in Indian ashrams. From 1984-1993 and again 2001-2005, I was living in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, and I am adding all of those my "Letters from India" book, which will mainly be of interest to those familiar with Prasanthi Nilayam, the ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. However, from 1994-2001 I was staying at a wonderfully spiritual, quiet retreat called Shanti Ashram, and I am putting the letters I wrote to my parents while staying there, on this book. The ashram was a dream come true for sadhana. The people are welcoming, it is usually never crowded, and they offer separate cottages to aspirants. The rates are donation basis only. You can contact them for a visit or longer-term stay: Sri Shanti Ashram Thotapalli Hills Via Sankhavaram East Godavari Dist Andhra Pradesh, India 533446 Phone: 011-91-7382009962
