For every story, Wattpad and Maybelline will donate $1 to Crisis text line and others, which I think is very important. Please do consider participating:) ┓ ꧁Blurb꧂ ┗ No one can possibly understand Alcyone. Her universe is different from everyone else's. Her mind is a dark spiralling abyss drenched in dimming stars. She is like a music box which yearns to play a melody. There's a cluster of stories inside of her, wishing they'd be told. It's a pity they can't be. Because she's broken. ┏☀︎︎⋯ disclaimer⋯☀︎︎┓ This is a story about mental illness, therefore, it will contain themes that might be disturbing for some readers. - - - Word count: 500 Time: 2 minutes, 59 seconds.

The Madness of Art could be the story of any one of the thirty-one million American adolescents currently suffering. This in-depth first-person account is raw, painful, and unfiltered. Following my first suicide attempt at the age of twelve, I found that through open dialogue and art I could overcome the sadness. In high school, I discovered a love for poetry and the many benefits that come with it. The book contains both my poetry and illustrations some created during my darkest moments, while others during my most joyous occasions.

"Some people are so poor, all they have is money." Alexandria was what most would call a rich bitch. She was labelled as a selfish girl who had everything she could ever want. However the judgments made by society were only adding to the enormous amount of pressure she was dealing with. Rich bitches were not allowed to have problems. Rich bitches were not allowed to be insecure. Rich bitches were not allowed to have feelings. Rich bitches were not allowed to feel lonely. Rich bitches were not allowed to be sad. Rich bitches were not allowed to cry. Alexandria was drowning in her own mind. Suffocating under the weight of expectations. Her parents had taught her from a young age to conceal her emotions and cover them with a mask. According to them happiness came secondary to the priority of success. The Lacefields were one of the most powerful families in the world. Alexandria Lacefield was expected to achieve great things carry on the family legacy. Her parents had a reputation that she needed to uphold. There could be no mistakes. No room for error. After all, there is no such thing as flawed perfection.
