Synopsis
In the cold, rigid world of the Joseon Dynasty, two sisters of the fallen Chae clan walk vastly different paths born from the same poverty.
Eun-jo, the elder, possesses a gentle heart, resilient spirit, and an extraordinary gift for courtly embroidery and medicinal botany. Seol-ha, the younger, harbors a poisonous jealousy that festers in the shadow of her sister's grace. Fed by their mother's cold favoritism, Seol-ha makes it her life's mission to destroy everything Eun-jo touches-from her reputation and first love to her very peace of mind.
When Eun-jo overcomes years of hardship to marry Lord Min Do-jin-a wealthy, righteous Royal Inspector-she builds a life of warmth, prestige, and family. But when a destitute Seol-ha arrives at the grand Min estate begging for shelter, Eun-jo's mercy becomes her ultimate mistake.
Driven to madness by the sight of her sister's stolen paradise, Seol-ha orchestrates an unforgivable betrayal under the guise of reconciliation. But in the halls of the Min clan, death is not the end. As red peony petals fall and dark shamans whisper in the shadows, a quiet vengeance awakens-one that will shatter a household and demand a final, blood-steeped reckoning.
