Evelyn Hartwell is a 20-year-old law student who strongly believes in women's rights and hates injustice. One day, she reads an old novel called "The Quiet Bride of Ashenhall," about a girl named Lira who is abused by her family and bullied by four powerful, cruel men.
Evelyn becomes angry because the story treats Lira's suffering as normal and ends with Lira dying alone, without justice or revenge. She calls the novel unfair and trash writing.
That night, Evelyn falls asleep-and wakes up inside the novel as Lira.
At first, she is shocked, but she quickly realizes she is now living the exact story she read. She also remembers everything that will happen, including how the four men and her family will continue to harm her.
But Evelyn refuses to accept the original ending.
Instead of staying weak and silent like the original Lira, she starts acting differently. She observes carefully, thinks strategically, and refuses to be easily controlled. The people around her begin to notice that "Lira" is not the same anymore.
The four men, who used to see her as powerless, start feeling unsettled because she no longer reacts the way they expect.
Now, Evelyn's goal is simple: survive and change the ending so Lira does not die like in the original story.
