Damon feels hopeless. He is manipulated by a Siren named Sybil. The girl he loves is in a beautysleep and her life is linked to their best friend Bonnie. Sybil mades him forget about Elena and wants him to be completly hers. He can't remember Elena, the love of his life and he feels empty and alone. His brother and his girlfriend try everything to get 'the old Damon' back.

Flash forward to the future where Elena and Stefan are married, Damon is dead and Bonnie, Caroline, Alaric and Matt are all busy with their own lives. They decide to meet up for a one year anniversary of Damon's death and it does not go as peacefully as expected...

The cure, that had been what had started all of this. A cure that could turn a vampire, human again.
