Tamika Paul never had a normal life. She was always in the shadows of her brother Jake. Logan always cared for Tamika. Tamika Paul goes to William B Travis Prep. Freddy has been Tamika's best friend since the day they both were born. What happens when Tamika had to move to Australia but has to hide it even from her best friend?

Tamika has a huge secret she never told anyone. She has stage 4 lung cancer and the only person who knows about it is Summer. A few weeks later Tamika runs out of Mr Finn's classroom and she throws up in the toilet. Kale tells principal Mullins and Tamika passes out. Later at the hospital the doctor tells Tamika's friends that her left lung died and she can't do skateboarding for a while. Tamika needs to rest. Tamika also has depression.

The world of pink poofy dresses and bright blue overalls never really seemed too bad to Clarice.
