Story is pretty much four overlapping rivalries, two chaotic friend groups hashira and Uppermoons, and one emotionally constipated water boy caught in the middle.

Over the course of his journey he suffers constant hardship, intolerance, failure, defeat, and loss. However along the way he gains a new purpose in life and meets people who matter to him. Especially a quiet girl with a butterfly hair pin. The boy also gets involved with the politics of the world and learns the history of a lost empire that holds the keys towards destroying the demon king once and for all.
