Cassandra and Rapunzel were never supposed to meet, for one thing Rapunzel lived in a tower so secluded from the 5 kingdoms that the only human voices to ever touched her ears were that of her and her mother. Cassandra on the other hand was a thief, known throughout the kingdoms for her stealth. There was never a reason for Cass to go beyond the enchanted forest after all what was there other than emptiness and trees. But stories have a way of playing out exactly how the author intends.

Being worried, he tells Varian when he wakes up. They decide they need to go free Ulla, properly this time. But who will they encounter? And what if Varian can't be saved? All of these thoughts race through Hugo's mind as he plans to propose to Varian. Doubt races his mind, as what if Varian says no? And Varian is also worried, what if he levitates again? And Hugo seems to be acting weird, but Varian can't help. He loves the blonde, and is worried for him. On their way to Tonitrua, they struggle to decide if it's worth it. What else might happen to them?

Rapunzel finally finds the rest of the Demanitus scroll and asks Varian to decode it. While Varian is decoding the third incantation (the incantation that gives whoever has the moonstone complete control over the black rocks) he instinctively reads it aloud to himself as he is writing down the translation. In doing so, he activates his moonstone powers that he didn't know he had. He has to figure out how he got these powers, how he feels about them, and what it'll mean when he and his friends eventually have to face Cassandra.

I haven't written anything in almost a year, but with this new hyperfixation something in me just wanted to write about them. 🥹
