After all, he wants the silver boy and the brunette girl in his dreams to be real, but of course, they aren't. Tessa Gray believed she'd lost the two people she loved most forever-until she received an package with Will's dagger, Jem's cane, and a note with the words: come and get them-S., Fallen I. Now Tessa's fighting her way back to Jem and Will, hunting down the mysterious "S" and following the clues that the twisted Fallen Industries seems to have laid out for her, searching for information about the two. Meanwhile, Jem and Will are struggling to control their new, impossible powers before they destroy themselves and everyone else around them-which is looking more appealing by the day. It's 2017 when Will, Tessa, and Jem wake up after a strange encounter with a deranged warlock. iPhones, highschool, dating, and average teenage life shouldn't be so strange, for a bunch of kids who never remember being born in the 1800s, but for a pop star, a cancer survivor, and the boy even his own family has labeled as a drug addict, it is. New and modern, 2017 William Herondale is pretty sure he's insane, especially when he feels himself falling for a pop star he's never even met. . . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ' He was closer now, almost to the stage. The lights were almost dazzlingly bright but he could just make out. . . Theresa Gray. Their eyes met. And all the memories of 160 years before flooded back into his mind like a tidal wave set on destruction. He began to scream, barely aware of the crowd of fans surrounding him on all sides as he attempted to push through. "TESSA! TESSA! IT'S WILL, IT'S ME!" Her eyes looked around for a moment, a dazed expression on her face. Hope lifted in his chest. If she heard him, if she knew- He had reached the stage. He threw himself up the stage steps, caught only by the hand of a burly security guard, the only blockade between him and Tessa. The only blockade between him and the reason he had felt so wrong in this life. Him and the reason he thought he could still want to be alive- "Tessa." She turned to face him, mic still strapped to her face, an exorbitant amount of glitter and makeup covering her that he had not been able to see from the crowd. It looked. . wrong.
