"Wait," he stopped dead in his tracks, "will you lay beside me?" I asked, wiping some more tears from my eyes. I was too afraid to be left alone to deal with my flashbacks. James was the only person who knew about them. "Of course," he answered almost immediately. I could picture his smile in my brain. I could hear him walk towards the other side of the bed and lay down beside me. I could just see him in the dark. We turned to face each other so that I could just make out the outline of his face. He brushed away som teary wet hair from my face and placed it behind my ear. "Another flashback?" He whispered to me. I nodded, too afraid to speak because I was conscious that I'd become a mess. "They are getting worse, more frequent," he noticed, breathing heavily. I moved closer towards him closing the distance between us. I lay my hand against his chest, shocked to find it bare.
