After the first wave, only darkness remains. After the second wave, only the lucky escape. After the third wave, only the unlucky survive. After the fourth wave, just one rule applies, trust no one. Now it's the dawn of the 5th wave and Squad 19 looks like they're in good shape to graduate and actually fight against the force that has destroyed their past lives. Fourteen year-old squad member Green looks up to no one else more than 19's squad leader, Ringer, who they all believe will lead them to victory with her sharp mind and even sharper shot on the firing range. When a new recruit arrives however, squad 19's chances of being #1 are threatened by his smart mouth and apparent hatred for everyone. Soon enough, Green finds himself, and fellow privates, making choices between themselves and their squad members, and what could become choices between life and death. But according to Ringer, "you either die a hero, or live long enough to become the villain." A/N: Hey! I didn't make up this storyline! The only thing I made up are the new characters! Newt starts afresh and joins the other unfortunate teens in the caves that border the W.I.C.K.E.D tower. His hunger for flesh and blood growing and constantly fighting his urge to eat. But betrayed by all he thought he could trust, how long before the monster inside consumes him.

This is my version of what happens after the first movie in the series The 5th Wave... The 1st wave: It was a like a switch with clicked off and the power was gone, out like a light. The 2nd wave: Earthquakes which caused major natural disaster - I doubt there were many survivors out on the coast where the tsunamis rolled tall. The 3rd wave: The enemies multiplied one of the most threatening diseases by causing the birds of the earth to carry them around the world; there were 75 birds for each human one average - now I can't imagine how those numbers differ. The 4th wave: The 'Others' were among us, and they had gained the ability to posess the human body, meaning you couldn't trust anyone. The 5th wave: It was meant to be the final wave, but we changed that. The miltary forces turned out to be controlled by the Others and they manipulated kids to follow orders - they had to kill the survivors of the first four waves. The kids were unaware that they were innocent, thinking that the humans were others as a result of the new technology supplied by their leaders. The 6th Wave: Maybe it can be prevented, or maybe its inevitable. Who knows what will happen? I am Cassie Sullivan, and I am a survivor of the 5 waves, along with my new squad: Sammy (my beloved six-year-old brother), Ben Parish (my high school crush), Ringer, Dumbo, Teacup and Poundcake. But there's one person missing: Evan Walker. He has saved me from treacherous deaths multiple times. And that's not all. I love him, so, so much. So, I need to find him... I will find him... Can we protect ourselves from the 6th Wave and find Evan? How will The Others react to our survival?
