I looked at Kyle in disbelief "Why are you still here?" I blurted out, my curiosity getting the best of me. I looked down, "I'm nothing special." I whispered. He chuckled that deep throated laugh that had butterflies erupting in my stomach. He tilted my head up, his wonderful green orbs meeting my shy brown ones. "Sweetheart, you don't know how special you are." (NOT IN BOOK) -------------------------------------- Ava- the nerd, the wallflower. She's the one that you don't see observing from a distance. The one that would rather listen than be heard, trust me when I say she has a lot to say. Kyle - the new guy, the man on campus. He's the one that people immediately label as a jock not a math genius who would rather read a good book than go to a pep rally. Well- at least according to The Rules. But that's the thing about rules- there meant to be broken. So watch as Kyle teaches Ava a lesson, that being noticed isn't that bad. And that being loved can change your whole world.

Your first love isn't your knight in shining armor. Nor is he Prince Charming. Usually he walks into your life when you least expect it. He makes your life better in a way. He gives you the whirlwind romance you always hope for, but then he will leave. And when he leaves, you don't get your feelings back. Your feelings become his and that ring becomes yours. You make it harder to walk away.

"I love you," he says holding my hands in his. "You better not be joshin' with me". "Why the heck would you think that?" "Because the day you break my heart, will be the day you kill me," I say as tears start running down my face. "Well, we better not let that happen". It was a chilly, October night when I met him. His soft brown eyes and gentle smile lured me into his arms, and there, I found warmth. He was the sweetest person I had ever met, and something about him was alluring and there was a force between us that was stronger than a magnet. Where had he been all of my life; and where has he gone? My first true love was amazing and still holds a place in my heart a year later.
