6/10/2026: First published on Wattpad back in 2016 when I was only 13. Yes im 23 now at time of typing omg im so old. I do not recommend reading this if you're looking for even mediocre writing. The ONLY reason I'm reuploading it despite it being so embarrassing is because I strongly believe in preserving fandom history (especially for small fandoms) and, as far as I can tell, this was the first ever fanfic for The Deep on the internet and so I want it to be available to all even if it's shit. Also, I can't deny I'm proud that this got over 75k views making it my highest read work to date. I have screenshot proof of original chapter publish dates in the first chapter. Someday I'll write a whole new fic for this ship, my og enemies to lovers OTP The day Fontaine finds Finn hiding in the moon pool is the day everything changed. That had been the day the Nektons had planned reaching Lemuria but due to a little 'delay' everything was put on hold and during this hold they would embark on an epic journey of friendship and family not to mention Fontaine and Finn learning to forget the past and instead fall into a dangerous love from which they would not be able to come out of. (Starts after season 1 and before season 2 although it doesn't realllly matter if you chronologically place after season 2 I guess) Current cover art is my own. I made that art years ago. At Godolkin University, everybody's pretending to be the perfect future hero. He sees through everyone's act but, then he meets Kevin. Kevin Moskowitz, aka The Deep, is loud, charming, distractingly pretty, and somehow completely impossible to avoid. What starts as annoying curiosity quickly turns into something way more dangerous as Kevin keeps pushing past Ben's walls with relentless flirting, genuine kindness, and an inability to shut up for more than thirty seconds. The problem? Kevin has absolutely no idea that John, powerful, controlled, campus golden boy John, has been in love with him for years. And John is starting to realize Ben might take the one thing he never admitted he wanted. Now stuck between fake hero culture, messy feelings, family tension, jealousy, and the growing connection neither of them expected, Ben and Kevin are forced closer together at the worst possible time. Especially because the more Ben gets attached to Kevin, the more everything around them starts becoming a problem.
