A short story about Dream, A.K.A. Morpheus from DCs Netflix show The Sandman, and a mortal woman.

Dreams and nightmares alike have lost their home, and dreamers in the waking world suffer the consequences. However, a select few have gotten their dreams back, some even receiving them in the waking world. An air of mystery lingers around Y/N, and a recurring nightmare spanning decades might have just uncovered it. While the answer may not be enough to help all the dreamers, it might have just saved the most important one of them all.

Valery, a girl who had no idea who she truly was, where she came from, or who her parents were, she was left on the step of an orphanage at two months old, unaware of who she was growing up she had no choice but to face the brutality of the human race, she was seen as a burden by her guardian and was treated as such, her only escape was a destroyed castle with a library still intact, with a women who calls herself Lucienne, the royal librarian. When a strange man suddenly returns and claims to be the king of dreams, what can she do when he asks her for her help in finding his belongings and restoring his realm? read to find out...

Dream has loved Hob for centuries and in 1889 when Hob called them friend's Dream felt hurt and confused about his feelings. now in present time Dream Mets Hob at the new inn with hope to get his "friend" to fancy him back. You giggle, turning away from his hand, palming your nose to wipe away the ice cream." He grins back at you, eyes shifting from your face to your food as he grabs his spoon, "or maybe I'll have to eat it first," You quickly grab the bowl, hoisting it away from him, hastily adding a "no, I got it!" as he moves to tuck into his own bowl.

I tilted my head slightly, watching her. The shifting light of the library cast long shadows, stretching and curling along the floor like the tendrils of an unseen thing waiting just beyond sight. Change was a fragile thing, delicate in its forming, unpredictable in its results. That Gault-a nightmare, once a being of fear-had chosen to become something else entirely was a notion I was still getting used to. Never before had I reshaped a nightmare into a dream, nor a dream into a nightmare. The distinction had always been absolute, a line never crossed. But now, here she was. The first of her kind. I was originally going to be posting this in my multi-fandom oneshots but it started getting long so I decided to make it a separate book. Gets a little steamy in later chapters, though there won't be smut as I'm not comfortable writing it just yet. This is being posted on my Tumblr but as an x reader.

Yet, here he was-an unwilling do-gooder with a growing list of freed gods, spirits, and eldritch beings who now owed him favors. Not that John wanted their help. He just wanted a quiet life, free from divine drama and cosmic messes. But no, every time he turned around, there was another desperate deity locked up in some ancient relic or cursed dimension. He tried ignoring them. He really did. But then guilt-or perhaps sheer bad luck-always dragged him back. Now he's neck-deep in magical debts, interdimensional grudges, and a timeline so tangled it could strangle a lesser man. The gods might call him a savior, but John knows the truth: he's just tired.
