ASPHALTKS
In a world reclaimed by nature and choked by the parasitic Cordyceps fungus, The Last of Us Part I is a haunting Post-Apocalyptic Bio-Horror that follows Joel, a cold-hearted smuggler, and Ellie, a foul-mouthed 14-year-old girl who holds the secret to humanity's survival in her blood. Their journey begins in the ruins of Boston after Marlene, leader of the Fireflies, tasks Joel and his partner Tess with transporting the immune girl across a landscape of "Green Apocalypse," where they encounter the paranoid survivalist Bill, the desperate brothers Henry and Sam, and eventually Joel's brother Tommy and his wife Maria in the wilderness of Wyoming. Along the way, they are hunted by the Infected-from the frantic, twitching Runners to the blind, clicking nightmares known as Clickers-and forced to survive the cruelty of men like the cannibalistic David and his right-hand James. As they reach their final destination at a hospital led by the surgeon Jerry, the line between hero and villain blurs when Joel is forced to choose between saving the world or saving the girl he has come to love as a daughter, proving that in a dying civilization, the greatest horror isn't the fungus in the lungs, but the lengths one will go to avoid being alone; but as the shadows lengthen over the ruins of man, one truth remains: the light is fading, the hope is a lie, and the end is near.
