The plot centers around a morning call involving a mountain lion loose in Echo Park, which sparks a chain of teasing, confusion, and ridiculous commentary. The entire squad-including Tim Bradford, Lucy Chen, John Nolan, Angela Lopez, Nyla Harper, Wesley Evers, and Sgt. Grey, Jackson West, Tamara Colins, and Captain Zoe Anderson-chimes in. Nolan becomes the unintentional star after the lion steps on his radio, and everyone refuses to let him forget it. The humor comes from: Everyone is roasting Nolan for "trying to assess the lion's temperament." Tamara throws away Tim's ancient protein bar and calls it a rescue mission. Zoe Anderson is trying (and failing) to enforce professionalism in the chat. Grey is muting the chat repeatedly because the squad keeps creating chaos. Jackson volunteers to handle the next wildlife call because Nolan "has suffered enough." Overall, the story is a lighthearted, fast-paced, character-driven comedy that mimics how the LAPD team might behave if they had a group chat during shift-full of snark, team work, and nonstop chaos.
