Sir Reginald Hargreeves, eccentric billionaire and adventurer, resolved to locate and adopt as many of the children as possible. She was left to be raised by her abusive father in Dallas, Texas, running away one day at the age of 15, unknowingly using her power to jump through time to successfully evade her father. She ended up trapped in the apocalypse and was brought to the commission by the Handler. In an attempt to escape, she tried to go back in time but was now back in her 15 year old body and stuck in the 60s.
