"It's funny how you think you have no heart when it's clearly beating for me" (This isn't the Liza from the Afterlight) Elizabeth was the bravest and most rebellious of all the blues in her camp. She had a heart of gold and a goal to be free with the other kids. She almost fulfilled that goal- but she sacrificed her safety so those other kids could have a head start. The PSFs kept her trapped in one of their bases- and boy, did they make sure she wasn't getting out. She was there for six more years. Lizzie is now nineteen. She almost gave up hope when she listens to the voice at the back of her head- the negative demon finally drowning out her angel. But there was and explosion, and an there were two intruders. One of them, was unconscious, and the other escaped. She knew what dead looked like, and honestly, what she saw wasn't dead. And what she saw in him was going to change her future. *Before you start- I do not own Alexandra Bracken's The darkest minds trilogy. She is an amazing author and my role model- so I'm just writing fanfiction because well... I'm a fan. This story will not have swearing (it will have astricks to censor it) or that rude stuff. Callie Gardner has spent the last six years of her life confined to the grounds of the Thurmond, carrying a secret so explosive that to bring it to light would be to write her own obituary. She is an Orange, and all Oranges are supposed to be dead with the Reds. When she finally escapes camp and finds herself on her own in the wilderness of West Virginia, she runs in to Liam, Chubs, and Zu, fellow teens on the run from the corrupt government. Together, they run from bounty hunters, rummage for food, and try to find sanctuary in East River, all while becoming family along the way. (This is just a fun little play on the Darkest Minds series :). It has the same premise and characters (Except for the original protagonist and other minor original characters), but the events are different and so are some elements of the plot. Enjoy!

At first the people feared the disease because it killed 90% of America's children. But then, they feared it because of what it did to the ones who lived. The ones like me. It turned us into freaks, as the adults like to say. The disease gave us special abilities. We were strong. The government feared us. As the government does when it fears things, it locked us away. They segregated us by colour, by danger, and sent us to live in camps. But I won't have that. Jia Thorin won't have that. I will do whatever it takes to stop this, including joining the Children's League, an organization that advocates for the kids of America, the ones who live. The ones like me. Those who survived were given powers. Each power corresponds with a different color. Greens are geniuses. Blues are telekinetic. Yellows are electrokinetic. Reds are pyrokinetic. Oranges are mind controllers. Reds are relatively rare. They possess immense destructive potential. Therefore, they are used by the government to destroy and execute multiple people. However, one managed to change the doctor's mind. At 16 years old, she was sent to Caledonia, along with other Psi children. There, she blended in with the other children. This is the ultimate war. Four characters including the main from each world have been taken by a higher being. This entity has plotted them against eachother. Once all four characters from each world have died, their world dies. Only one world can live. Who will you choose? (This is kindof like a hunger games thing but instead of districts, fictional world's, instead of tributes, characters,instead of two, four. Instead of the capital, the entity. When the IAAN spreads causing children to develop powers, Cassidy's life is changed for good. After escaping the clutches of her abusive father, she is on the run. Cassidy is different from the rest of the kids, with all of the powers as opposed to one. Will her powers push everyone away, or bring the best people to her?

Freedom. Now in my grasp, but only if I play my cards right. This new found freedom that i haven't had since i was 9. I've been in this place for 8 years of my life, i don't know what to expect, who to trust, or to believe. This may be the only chance i have for a real life.
