When a strange disease called IAAN started killing kids all over the United States, the government isn't scared of all the kids who are dead, but the ones who are still alive, the ones who got powers. The government put the kids in camps and did tests on them and tortured them. No one is getting out unless you die or they find a cure. Whatever comes first. Until now. Genevieve Scott is 16 years old and on the run. She broke out of her camp along with 100+ other kids. After battling the first few days with a gun wound, she falls asleep and wakes up with other kids who got out. Liam, chubs, and zu. She tries to hide her biggest secret from them, she isn't a green, she is an orange, but she fears if they know what she is, they will abandon her. She and Liam are falling hard for each other, but she cant be close to him, not after what happened with her parents. She is forced to stay on the run with them, trying to find the safe haven for kids, and stay away from the children's league, a government association who will stop at nothing to get ahold of Genevieve and use her for her powers. See...she is special, rare, as they like to say. And as they get closer to grasping they things they've dreamed of for so long, Genevieve must make a hard decision deciding the future of not only her, but the ones she loves, one that may mean giving up her only chance at a life worth living.

All under 18 is sent to rehabilitation camps to work and suppress their abilities. But some are too powerful to be controlled... Callie Gardner has spent the last six years of her life confined to the grounds of the Thurmond, carrying a secret so explosive that to bring it to light would be to write her own obituary. She is an Orange, and all Oranges are supposed to be dead with the Reds. When she finally escapes camp and finds herself on her own in the wilderness of West Virginia, she runs in to Liam, Chubs, and Zu, fellow teens on the run from the corrupt government. Together, they run from bounty hunters, rummage for food, and try to find sanctuary in East River, all while becoming family along the way. (This is just a fun little play on the Darkest Minds series :). It has the same premise and characters (Except for the original protagonist and other minor original characters), but the events are different and so are some elements of the plot. Enjoy!

Spoilers for The Darkest Legacy by Alexandra Bracken!! Basically an extension of TDL, but written by me. Prologue Part 1 & 2 are Ruby's POV and the rest is Zu's POV because we need more Rozume than we got. Rubiam, Chida and Priyana are in this book, I won't break them up because that's too much to handle, and yeah! Enjoy! Updates Monthly (usually) ⚠️ Profanity Warning⚠️ Based (lightly) on the following books and after credits short at the end of the movie. (I don't even know what to call it.) The charecters (minus a few OCs) belong to Alexandra Bracken. After Ruby removed herself from Liam's memories, he had no reason to stay and left as soon as he could. Ruby herself has to deal with the consiquences and guilt of what she had done and know that if he does return that he will not know her. When the two keep finding themselves in the same places, he has to wonder if he once knew her. Despite any curiosity, he knows he has to keep moving. Any day now he could be retreaved and end up back in the camps, but when a threat too great for him to face alone surfaces, he has to turn to a stranger for help. I wrote this imidiently after watching the movie and have yet to read past the first book. This is only for fun and constructive critisism is welcome. I couldn't believe it. He was there and he was with her. I saw the hate in him rise but never was it so strong, never so hateful, never so dark. I started to back off, but he already had a grip on me.

My name is Y/N Y/L/N and I have been in the system for seven years now. My life is constant torture and there aren't many people who care about us anymore.
