The North has fallen. Mithlond burns. Frodo never returned from Mordor. Now the tide of darkness rises unchecked, sweeping across Middle-earth like a second great shadow. In this alternate retelling of the War of the Ring, the free peoples stand scattered and broken. Glorfindel, once a beacon of light, is taken by Sauron, his fate unknown. Caledorn, a solemn elven warrior, is sent east in search of Rukil, a rebel Easterling warlord who may hold the key to survival. Meanwhile, Gerithor, a seasoned Dúnedain ranger, and the dwarf Kalan brave the storm in the South, seeking to aid Helm's Deep before it is crushed beneath the weight of a united host of Orcs, Corsairs, and traitors. As alliances fray and hope fades, a handful of heroes must rise not to win, but to endure. To buy time. To light a single torch against the night. Because sometimes, the end is not victory. Sometimes, the Last Stand is all that remains. Following the events of Defenders of Middle Earth Part One, this AU details what would have happened if the Fellowship, and Gerithor's company, had failed in their tasks. NOTE: The cover is made with AI. My other covers are original, but as a soon-to-be father I cannot afford a photoshop subscription anymore. Sorry!

Two Lights were given. Only one was meant to endure. A mythic fantasy inspired by the tradition of ancient epics and invented languages, The Silver Tree: A Tale of Two Lights recounts the rise and fall of civilizations beneath rival Lights - one golden and absolute, the other silver and enduring. As prophets speak, kingdoms tremble, and seekers uncover forbidden histories, the world moves toward a destiny neither light can control.

In the wake of a dark and grimy cell of Mirkwood, you find yourself in a sticky situation. You are [Y/n], the last daughter of Izalith, the Witch of Chaos, and this 'chaos blood' runs in your blood strongly as it did with all of your deceased siblings. It's a festering disease you aim to control, after disrupting the Elven Peace and almost getting killed by the King of Mirkwood. Luckily for you, a second chance at life had found its way into your reaches, granted by a certain wizard; Gandalf the Grey, protector of Middle Earth professes that [Y/n] can heal from her dark heritage, and instead become the saviour of dark times through fighting a greater evil; Lord Sauron. Upon finding yourself join the Fellowship thinking all was going well, you can't help but notice the livid glares of a certain blonde elf. Your gaze turns to meet the eyes of Legolas. Legolas, Prince of Mirkwood, knows who you are and detests you for it. Prove yourself, [Y/n]. Prove that blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb. 𐬺𞠬𐬺 Hello! This is an xReader for feminine persons, and it involves a ton of inspiration from Dark Souls, so yeah, if you're reading this and thinking; "Izalith? Isn't that the witch from that one game?"- to that I say, yes it is. I'm a huge geek for that trilogy... Also this is based off both the book AND movies. I'm hoping to capture quality realism in this book, since I never read a fanfic that feels genuine or authentic in the way characters would act, or speak. My writing isn't used to formality, imma try my best to make it sound like Middle Earth speech, but if you see any mistakes, please for the love of Eru, point it out and give me advice!!!! Other than that, if you have any questions, ask on my feed, and I'll answer it on here (if it's a popular question). Prepare for deep lore and symbolism!! There's a reason for everything that happens in this book, and you are the main focus of it all. THANKS FOR READING!!! BYEE

Philophobia: The fear of emotional attachment; fear of being in or falling in love. Everyone knows the story of The Hobbit, that brave little hobbit called Bilbo Baggins who set off on an unexpected adventure with 13 dwarves and a wizard. However, no one knows the full story behind the dwarves. Everyone knows the Lonely Mountain, and the mighty kingdom of Erebor with its mountains of gold. Everyone knows King Thror, his son Thrain, and the most famous of all that line of kings Thorin Oakenshield. The always grumpy and most mysterious dwarf. However, no one knows why this dwarven prince appears so heartless and cold. Everyone knows about the elves, the elves of Rivendell, and those of the Greenwood. However, no one knows that there is so much more going on between elves and dwarves than the feud between Thorin and Thranduil over the mountain. There is so much more than the story of the diamonds that King Thror refused to hand over to King Thranduil and much more than the fact that Thranduil turned his back on the dwarves at the moment they needed him most. Similarly, there is a fact that Legolas and Thorin have known each other for a long time, since before the dwarves were captured in the Greenwood, even before it fell ill and was called Demsterwold. No one, not even the biggest Tolkien fan knows about the little orphan brought to Erebor on a harsh winter's night, but for now I forgive you. Now it is time to tell an entirely new story. A story that took place long before the birth of our hobbit Bilbo, long before the Greenwood fell ill and long before Thorin and his party of 13 dwarves and a wizard showed up on Bilbo's doorstep. This is the story of Terwyn.

This story was inspired by 'Food Wars'. Jesse's first memories weren't of toys or cartoons. They were of heat. The warm breath of ovens. The sharp hiss of oil in a pan. The rich, layered smells of spices from places he couldn't yet pronounce. At five years old, Jesse would stand on a wooden crate in the corner of the kitchen, eyes wide, hands gripping the edge of the counter as he watched his father work. His father wasn't just a cook. He was a chef-one who believed food told stories. Jesse grows to believe this is the dream he seeks. However, in South Park he learns he seeks friendship.

"Gandalf. I thought you said this place would be easy to find. I lost my way, twice. Wouldn't have found it at all had it not been for that mark on the door," the dwarf states as he steps inside, his eyes still on Gwen as he shrugs off his coat and gives it to Kili. Stepping back next to her brother she rolls her eyes when he speaks, "Mark? There's no mark on that door. It was painted a week ago!" "There is a mark; I put it there myself. Gwendolyn and Bilbo Baggins, allow me to introduce the leader of our company, Thorin Oakenshield," Gandalf states nervously as he looks between Thorin and the two hobbits as they look at each other. "So, these are the Hobbits," Thorin's eyes look Bilbo up and down in slight disappointment before they move to Gwen. **************************************************************************************************** What if Bilbo Baggins wasn't the only child of Bungo and Belladonna? What if he had a younger sister names Gwendolyn who was the complete opposite of him? Gwendolyn Baggins has always been the free spirit of the Baggin's family, always disappearing in the morning to reappear that evening bruised and dirty. When Gandalf comes along with news of an adventure that could bring out the spirit in Gwendolyn again, no one could have known all that would come along with it. **************************************************************************************************** Heya! This is Isabelle! Thank you for taking the time to look at my story :0 So sorry for any mistakes I'm not that best a grammar. Enjoy ;)

*This story is under editing* He was Earthly; she was Aerial. He was made of clay and iron, his mind was blood and gold; she was made of fire and dreaming, despite her shadows running cold. Two, of a different kin; their minds so devoured in hate, though thy hearts dwelling in love brighter than the sun, stronger than any metal nameable. His temper was like a bison, her silhouette was like the sea. He was a storm, whilst she was the rain, and together they will tame the elements' natural spring and create the colors across the sky. A world beyond theirs. Their souls were forged athwart the planets within ice and fire, and together they shall inherit the stars. All their darlings, death shall doom. Though, how terrible it is to love another that death can touch. Fair was she who enchanted the King. © Copyright 2013. All rights reserved.
