This is an excerpt/with a cliffhanger from a fictional coming of age story I currently have in the works about a teen-age boy who moves to a new town and along with his new found friends, works towards building one of the biggest restoration shops in the American Midwest.

It seems like our lives run on a continuous cycle. We repeat the same seven days of the week over and over again. To most, this sameness and simplicity is comforting. Knowing what we will be waking up to is favorable, because then we don't have to worry. The most change in my little town is the two sets of stop lights flipping from red to green. That's why once things took a drastic turn, no one quite knew how to react.

At ten years old boy Rod Pierreson-Guidry starts to have nightmares and visions of his hometown being completely destroyed by a large tornado during the midnight without any warning. His parents think he just has casual night terrors and recurring dreams but Rod believes his nightmare was warning him of approaching threat, so he and his three classmates begin to do research and craft a plan to warn as many people as possible before the day of disaster arrives at their doorstep.
