"Bridget Jones with a lot more wine! This story is hilarious, feel-good and relatable in all the best ways!" - Grace K @ HQ. She's just quit her high-flying job, and her marriage is coasting on fumes. Can Alice find a sense of purpose in the wreckage? ***** Alice's life isn't going to plan. She's tied to her phone, pointlessly managing PR for a sinking corporate megalith. She's become a bit player in her kids' lives, and her marriage is coasting on fumes. Forcing herself into action with a rash resignation, Alice sets out to make a positive impact on the world around her. But how? Meditation leads to napping, and her attempts to get closer to her teenage daughter result in the discovery of a secret that leaves her at a loss. As the months tick by and a sense of purpose continues to elude her, Alice finds herself forming bonds with the most unlikely characters: the young woman who panhandles outside her old office; the homeless boy who sits cross-legged outside the liquor store with his ginger cat; her own dog walker who, it turns out, knows a thing or two about developing a good crema. Testing the limits of marriage, motherhood and the Toronto subway system -- can Alice find her way into a purpose-driven life? Or will it all be one giant hangover? [*Wattpad Editor's Pick 2018*] [[word count: 70,000-80,000 words]] Readers say: "This had me laughing so loud that my sister came to check up on me to see if I'm OK!!!" "...the new Bridget Jones, a working woman's take on the digital age." About the Author: Working mother and red wine enthusiast, Renee lives in Toronto with her flawed but wonderful family (seriously, who left socks on the kitchen counter?) in a flawed but wonderful house (what *is* that smell in the basement?) where she writes flawed but wonderful stories about what it is to be a woman today.

They were both drowning in it, the pressure, the noise, the expectations. But neither of them could see how they might save each other. Not yet. Not when it was easier to pretend everything was fine. But sometimes, when the world was quiet enough, you could feel the pull of something real, something that might make it all worth it. Maya Thompson stood at the corner of Queen Street, hands shoved deep into her pockets, staring at the cracked pavement beneath her feet like it held the answers to the questions she couldn't even form in her head. The world was moving around her, but she was stuck. School, friends, the endless cycle of work and pressure, none of it felt like it fit anymore. It was too loud, too bright, too much. And then there was him, Joon -quiet, with an edge of annoyance that seemed to sit heavy in the air whenever he was around. He didn't speak much, but that wasn't what made him stand out. It was the way he carried the weight of everything in the way he looked at the world. It was like he was tired of pretending. Vote and comment please!

"You're not helping at all," she sobbed her voice cracking. "Then why are you still here talking to me?" He asked carefully trying to sound as nice as possible. "Because," she paused and continued thinking for a moment. "Because I don't have anyone to talk to."

Some letters are never meant to be sent. Some years change everything. For me, that year was 2026. After moving to Toronto, I thought life would finally start making sense. Instead, it only got more complicated. Between figuring out my career, paying off debt, building a future, and trying to understand love, I realized something terrifying: No one actually has life figured out. So I started writing letters. Letters about the mistakes I made. Letters about the things I wish I understood sooner. Letters about love, fear, independence, and growing up. Every letter was addressed to one person. J.

I've been drawn to writing since childhood. It's the only serious dream I've ever had. And yet, if you'd asked me about my writing ambitions a few years back, I probably would have told you I'd missed my best shot at ever completing a manuscript draft. Boy, was I wrong. In 2014, I embraced writing on my phone with Wattpad and upended everything about my writing process. (And I do mean everything.) This essay collection documents my observations and experiences with the platform. If Wattpad's also changed how you write or brought new experiences into your writing life, I'd love to hear about it in the comments.
