Azura is entering in a pageant, not that she really wants too though. See, her parents aren't so rich and need money so they can move to Alaska because in Texas,nobody treats them the same. Everyone practically hates them, espacially Azura. Since she is French people make fun of her accent so she does whatever she can to get some money for the trip. Her parents are from Alaske, well one is. Her mom is but her dad is from France. Azura never really lived in one place for to long because her parents hate staying somewhere for to long, so Azura had no friends. She never has, ever... Then somebody meets her at a pageant. Could this be her big moment? Could she get money for her parents? Probably except there is one catch...

This short story was written for extra credit during the end of my Winter 2020 quarter at Cal State San Bernardino. Here, I give the Corona Virus a voice and personality as the Angel of Death. It is based on current events, so I wondered if I was being sensitive enough as I wrote it. Being written in March and posted in November, the story hasn't aged too well with some inaccuracies but bear with me, I tried to see the future with a happier ending.
