Science fiction contest

A typical day in a future twenty something years of age male is not so ordinary to us. As we briefly leap into the future to see the world through the emerald eyes of Dandelion, we see how he plans to spend his Spring Break.

"what if your consciousness could be inside a computer?" Marty Cull said, looking out into the crowd."What if you could be the computer?" He paused, to smile his big shiny smile. "I would like to present, the first human computer, Ms. Parker." The curtains behind him opened to reveal a female human standing beside a large computer on a desk...her eyes were closed as if she was concentrating. Her fingers wrapped around a small device, that was connected to the computer by a cord. The audience held their breath as they waited. She opened her eyes, and the computer automatically turned on. "Greetings." Two voices said at once. The high pitched voice of a female human, and the garbled voice of the computer."I am the first humanoid."

When an innocent curiosity gets the best of a boy, he soon finds out things aren't what they seem. Phil is a young man who lives with his deadbeat father. After years of knowing there's an important box hidden in his fathers room, he decides to finally get some answer.

In the near future, society has been given advanced technology to help keep the innocent safe. Thus, creating an android named Detective Manning who helps solve crimes across the country. He's a brand new machine to the world to continue that promise. He is what you might call a "superhero" as he's programmed with a single task: find and catch the bad guy before massive destruction begins. But for his first case, that isn't what happened. ...... This is for the TravelBrilliantly contest! Contest entries are supposed to be 500-1,000 words long; this is just under 1,000 words.
