The last thing I remember was my body hitting the ground. I open my eyes to see a blinding white light, and then he's standing there. Newt. And he was smiling. He looked as if he was the happiest boy alive; like he had never been broken. "Welcome to heaven, Tommy," smirked Newt, "took you long enough to get here."

When they finally are safe at last, Thomas begins to revive some lost feelings for Brenda while being in guilt of Teresa's death. Who would have thought that Brenda has also feelings for Thomas, and the fact that Teresa is alive is more shocking. Where does this end?

Thomas and Brenda have escaped the clutches of WICKED and are beginning their new life with the other Gladers. But with an old friend coming back and seeming more and more like an enemy every day can Thomas and Brenda make it through? Or will they become history.

Newt is a suicidal teen who feels he is worthless. Thomas as has had feelings for the boy for a short while but doesn't know much about him. Will he still feel the same when he finds out what's under that fake smile?

What happens when feelings start to sprout as they begin their teen journey ? What happens when Teresa finds comfort in another fellow student Shawn? Who does Thomas end up with?
