A series of poems inspired by pain(for the most part) but not necessarily ending in it. However, these are not entirely uplifting so if that's what you came here for, sorry to disappoint.

The short untold story- "I love you. I like you. I noticed you. " That was the words he said after knowing the flower for few months back. I decided to stay. I got his back. Truth hurts and everyone knows that. Been confessed. Been rejected. Feeling devastated. Being used. Fake hope. It hurts so bad where you felt like why does life need to be this way. This is my untold stories where all the happy moments, sad and painful truth and my journey to make my self to bloom again after he left me hanging.

"Because of you I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt Because of you I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me Because of you..." "Do you love me?" "Yes" "Don't lie to me" "I'm not" "Be honest" "I love you..." I have trust issues I tell a lie to keep myself safe Safe from the Liars I understand that Lying hurts everyone Everyone who thought they could trust you TRUST is hard to gain Earning it is like a prize A prize that can slip out of your hands any second Any second where a lie can told A lie which hurts someone.

These are just my thoughts-raw, unfiltered, and real. I'm not here to preach or change the world, just to share what's been on my mind about society, its expectations, and the way it shapes us. Maybe you'll relate, maybe you won't. Either way, these are the thoughts I wanted to share.

This is a book of poems that I have written over the last 7 or 8 years. I am a 20 year old female that has been in and out of foster homes for the first 4 years of my life. I was taken by the DHS from my mom when I was 18 months old because she couldn't take care of me and was into a lot of different drugs. I was raped by my foster brother and some of his friends between the ages of 3 and 5. And many other things happened in the foster home that scarred me. So yes I have a lot of trauma, and you will be able to see it in my writings. Most of this book contains poems that I have written myself and then there are a couple more or less rants as a way to express myself as a writer. I find poetry very cathartic and therapeutic. I found out that I was good at poetry when I was only 6. But sadly most of those poems are lost. I really started saving and keeping track of my poems when I turned 12 because I was diagnosed with bipolar depression stage 1. That's when I realised that poetry wasn't just something I did or just a way to write. For me it was a part of me, it was a way to express myself when no one would listen. Even more than that it was a creative way to express the deep dark secrets that I had been hiding about my trauma and all the things that happened to me at a very young age. -Myra Hendrix
