A collection of poems about growing up before feeling ready. twenty-something explores the realities of adulthood, the exhaustion hidden behind independence, the loneliness of becoming, and the pressure to keep moving even when life feels uncertain. Through soft and reflective poetry, this collection captures the in-between phase of navigating dreams, responsibilities, changing relationships, and the version of yourself you are still learning to become. For anyone who has ever felt lost, left behind, or overwhelmed by the weight of growing up: this book is a reminder that you are not navigating life alone. twenty-something written by: syrynah © All Rights Reserved

Full disclosure... I wrote this story years ago during the 1980s when still in college. It started as a class journaling project. As disclosed in the story, the writing was motivated when I attended Kim's wedding, the friend from the story who was Vickie's college roommate and, to this day, her lifelong friend since grade school. There were recent tweaks made to the content, near its end, that were [a]rtificially [i]nfluenced in the style of one of my favorite authors, Sam Shepard. In general, the story is about those moments in life that shape us and is a journey through young love. Enjoy-

Three years have passed. I'm still trapped, imprisoned in a city which is slowly crumbling around my eyes. My family - if there's anything left of it - haven't seen or heard of me since its members fled. Every day of my life, if I can even bring myself to call it that anymore, I witness the few souls who still surround me dropping to the ground in a lake of pure crimson, dead, waiting for whatever remains of their lives to drain into the sewers. I wanted to fight at first. This was my city, my parents' city, the city of a thousand glorious parties and a million dreams, the city of lovers, the city I loved. I didn't want to see it crumble into its own ashes. Three long years ago, I would have done anything to stop that happening. Three years on, and I'm not so sure...

Celia Diggory was always seen in her brother's shadow, she knew nothing better than that. After losing her only family, Celia struggled to find herself, latching onto those who would help her was the only way she could cope. Now five years after the battle of Hogwarts, Celia's demons come back to haunt her. Will she break through the wall in which stops her from living the life she had dreamed of? Or will she let the darkness consume her?* A Harry Potter Fanfiction *Celia is a Harry Potter fan fiction and by no means is 100% true to the original story. I have tried my hardest to be true to the events of the OG books, but some elements have been adapted in order to fulfil and make sense of this story.

How many times did you apologize for something that wasn't your fault today? Think little things: nearly bumping into someone on your way to the water cooler; asking a question; or sneezing. My answer? Five. I said, "Sorry," five times today for reasons completely unnecessary. Sorry. That's six. Whatever your answer might be, here's my "sorry" situation in the form of several vignettes.
