It was hot. It was humid. It was loud. Sweat dripped down the painted walls of the bathroom. A cold shower on a hot day was like an ice pack on a fevered forehead. It was only a temporary fix to the bigger problem of no a/c in 80 degree weather. "Everyone wants an air conditioner but no one wants to pay the utilities." My mom would continuously yell. I had nothing but a towel wrapped around my body as a sat on my bed and listened to my family argue about bills. "It's to hot!" My mom's boyfriend and my mom both kept yelling the problem but no solution. Once the the cold shower started to wear off I got dressed into my work uniform.
