Only the brightest, healthiest, and morally upright people would be allowed to have children; these people would be fostered in a sheltered compound, safe from the outside world. These children would be raised to be God's salvation for the country. All others would be made infertile at age 10. In only a generation, America would rise up renewed and better than ever. These are four vignettes written in response to Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale.

Before the summer started Jay-short for Jamie-caught her boyfriend of two years,Spencer Grae(gray), cheating on her, and every since she has been dreading going back to school. The day before school starts Jay has to go register for her junior year of high school but she goes shopping at the mall before she has to register. One, she's not only living with D but with his four other roomates-Kye, Brandon, Matt, and Aaron. Two, Spencer is also going to be there for her junior year. Not exactly what she was expecting but when the guys dont hesitate to show her how they feel, she doesnt know whether to act on it or to go for someone at her new academy. Now she keeps asking herself what she has gotten herself into.

Kali squeezes onto her mothers cloak, feeling warmed by her mothers words. "But of course...your life will be hard this way...so I will give you a chance. Once you find your mate, you will live happily...but face rejection...and it will awaken...wanting to kill all you know," she says, smiling manically. Kali looks at her mother, confusion plastered across her face. "Fail to learn to control it...and all your loved ones will die...falling at your feet...my little Goddess of destruction," she says, placing Kali on the doorstep of the large pack house ahead of them. As the woman backs away from her child, tears stream from its tiny, helpless face. The mother gives the child one last smile, before she is slashed with an invisible sword, and blood is sprayed across the pure snow, tainting the beautiful scenery. The baby screams, as her mothers body disappears completely, leaving behind nothing but blood, and a child.

terra has some secrets but then so does lance ,their pasts are conjoined however much terra tries to forget it and lance tries to hide it. so to get on with their future they must dig into their past bringing back old hurts maybe then terra can confess all that scares and hurts her and maybe lance can realize what he left behind so many years ago
