A rewrite of my old Novel.
"I have a sweet tooth," he said, his voice a low, gravelly rasp that sent a shiver straight down my spine. "And I'm craving double fudge."
Kennedy is a one-woman army. She's fighting a family curse, a mounting debt, and the ghost of a grandmother who told her never to let a man tell her her dreams were too expensive to keep. But with a ten-month clock ticking and the neighborhood "shark" circling her front door, the fire in her kitchen is starting to feel like a death trap.
Vincent Cunningham doesn't do "small business." He does hostile takeovers. He's cold, devastatingly handsome, and has enough power to crush Kennedy's legacy with a single signature. He expects her to fold. He expects to buy her out and move on.
He doesn't expect the fire in her eyes-or the way her scent haunts him long after the "Open" sign flips.
He's the predator. She's the target. But in the quiet hours after the ovens go cold, the line between business and obsession starts to blur. Vincent is used to owning everything he touches, but Kennedy is the one thing he can't buy-and the only thing he's starting to crave.
