To them, the worst thing that could happen is a run-in with the on duty security patrolling the place. But what happens when they run into something else? Something more sinister? That night Katie's entire reality turns into something she can't quite grasp. Something she can't quite believe. Something that has her questioning her sanity, just as the former patients of the Pinebrook Insane Asylum did within its very walls.

Fifteen year old Janet's parents have a job renovating abandoned buildings ranging from small houses to giant churches. Others find abandoned buildings scary, she finds them beautiful. When her parents purchase an abandoned asylum turned-hotel, she adores it at first. Until she starts to feel as if though someone is always standing behind her. In the middle of the night, she is awoken by cries for help and pleas for death. A faint buzzing can always be heard in the old electroshock room, and Janet begins to hear whispers. She begins to have flashes and visions of the past that become more realistic...until it's almost as if they aren't just visions.
